Solar Power Plants and Electricity

As there is a major increase in global warming, it is time to shift green energy systems. Undoubtedly this will be a huge transition from one system towards another, but this will provide our planet a huge space to breathe. Solar power plants are currently the biggest source of producing green energy, which is feasible from almost every aspect.

Government and private companies worldwide are installing solar parks, which are the biggest source of producing solar energy; this unique method of producing electricity enables a commoner to produce their own energy in their own apartment or larger scale. This can be as huge as one can imagine.

Solar power plants use different methods to produce energy as per their feasibility. Below explained methods are the two most used systems of producing solar energy.

Photovoltaic systems: Photovoltaic systems basically use solar panels to convert sunlight into electric power. Photovoltaic systems are the most common resource of solar energy production worldwide. This method is so feasible that it can be installed inside a house and can generate electricity on such small levels; when it comes to high-level production, these projects / solar power parks can be so huge and can have a capacity of hundreds of Megawatts. Almost every country has started working on this brilliant technology and making a huge amount of electricity.

In a photovoltaic system, sunlight directly hits a semiconductor surface, due to which electrons' movements create an electric current. This produces DC, which is then converted to AC before supplying to domestic users.

Concentrated Solar Power (CSP):

This system uses solar thermal energy to make steam, and then the steam drives the steam turbine to produce electricity. Larger-scale electricity is being produced through this system; this system uses mirrors to direct the sun rays on tubing, which contains a particular fluid which then heats the water and creates steam, steam is then used to run the steam turbine.
